Discover the Elbe River Landscape Biosphere Reserve with this app. The tours were created together with residents of the region and therefore offer an authentic insight into the valuable nature, the eventful history and life on the great river.Lenzen Castle is the ideal starting point for this. It is located on the Elbe in the four-country corner between Hamburg and Berlin, directly on the Green Belt. Here the Federation for the Environment and Nature Conservation Germany e.V. (BUND) has created a wonderful nature experience with its floodplain and visitor center.Four tours have been integrated so far, more are to follow:1) Auentour - cycle route between Elbe and AlandThe floodplain tour offers insights into the different habitats of a floodplain landscape and into the cultural history of the former border region. The route leads along the valuable and revitalized alluvial forest of the Hohe Garbe.2) Lenzener Horchtour – tour through the cityLenzen is one of the oldest cities in Brandenburg. This tour is about the eventful city history, stories behind old walls and special Lenzen personalities.3) Exhibition tour at Lenzen Castle – listen to the city’s historyYour guide for the city history exhibition at Lenzen Castle: With the help of eight particularly interesting stories and exhibits, you will get up close and personal with the historical context surrounding the city of Lenzen.4) Tour through the Miracle Blood Church - Bad Wilsnack church history(s)The tour leads through the large church in the small town. During this tour you will find out how the strange name “Miracle Blood Church” came about and what international significance it had in the Middle Ages.Please download the tour content via WiFi. A map is usually integrated into the tours. You can use these to guide you along the route. At the stations, speakers, some of whom are residents, report on the special features of each location. Texts, images or videos illustrate and complement what is being said.
